Sofia Richie Grainge Talks Body Care, Baby Bumps, and Sun Bathing

When It-girl Sofia Richie Grainge talks (or rather, posts), the world tends to listen. The soon-to-be mom and unofficial queen of the "clean aesthetic" has swiftly become one of the most sought after talents for her enviable style, complete with a slick "quiet luxury" bun and natural makeup look. But with regular details on her skin-care and makeup routine, we naturally wanted to know more about her body care regimen - particularly as warm weather, summer activities, and her due date approach.

"I love a good body care regimen," Richie Grainge tells PS. "[Applying] body oils and lotions immediately after the shower are a must for hydrated skin." Alluding to the way that the still-moist skin from the steam allow for maximal product absorption, she also takes steps to prepare her skin with some physical exfoliation. "I [also] love a good body scrub and always use body oil after showering."

In late March, she unveiled her campaign with the Brazilian-inspired beauty brand Sol De Janeiro for the launch of its Rio Radiance SPF 50 Sunscreen Collection, consisting of the Spray ($36), Lotion ($40), and, of course, Body Oil ($38), all featuring sun protection. This partnership is ideal for Richie Grainge, who is a self-described "sun worshiper."

Her signature sun-kissed glow, by the way, is entirely natural. "I'm not a self-tanner, actually, [but] I love a sunbath," she says. "And I always use SPF. It's a must." Naturally, she is anticipating plenty of quality time under the rays this summer. "I am looking forward to family life this summer, by the pool and BBQing. I will, of course, be using the Sol Rio Radiance SPF all summer."

With almost a year of marriage to husband Elliot Grainge under her belt, the beauty announced her pregnancy in January. "I have always been a big believer in self-care," she says. (This is practically to be expected as she is a Virgo.) "My philosophy hasn't really changed, I am just taking good care of myself, and being kinder to my growing body."

I am just taking good care of myself, and being kinder to my growing body.

Her regimen has changed somewhat. She shares that she has reached for Bumpology Bump Butter (sold out) on repeat during her pregnancy, and that her skin has also been more oily than usual, and she now carries Tatcha Blotting Papers ($14) in her purse. Her skin is also sensitive, which makes it product-dependent on whether she can tolerate fragrances, as fragrance in skin care can be problematic for sensitive and dry skin types. However, she is "obsessed" with the fragrance of The Rio Radiance SPF, and we all know a few mothers-to-be with strong opinions on scents.

Richie Grainge also incorporates regular lymphatic drainage massage into her body-care regimen. "I love lymphatic massages at Detox by Rebecca and see her once per week. It has helped so much," she says of sessions with the celebrity massage therapist Rebecca Faria, who espouses the hands-only Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage technique. The modality is a celebrity-favorite for the way it simultaneously supports bodily detoxification via the lymphatic system, while also contouring and sculpting via the drainage of lymphatic fluid - perfect for the swimsuit-clad summer months ahead.

Aside from practices, a cornerstone of self-care relaxation, Richie Grainge intentionally lives a lifestyle that facilitates time to unplug and decompress. She is a major fan of staying in to do just that. "I live in lounge sets at home. Le Set is a personal favorite at the moment," she says. "Comfy and cozy always."
