With the Met Gala just a few days away, the queen of the festivities, Blake Lively, is emerging to grace our social feeds once more. On April 27, Lively attended the reopening of The Landmark at Tiffany & Co Fifth Avenue in New York City wearing a brown latex dress with a complementary nude half-moon manicure. For her hair, she decided to throw it back to the '70s with can't-miss "disco curls" with loads of volume for the occasion.
Lively's look, which was created by hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, saw the star's sandy-blond hair falling just below her shoulders. A key characteristic of the "disco curls" trend, her defined ringlets framed her face perfectly. The volume was only accentuated by her side part.
"Disco curls" are just one of the many retro hairstyles to make a comeback over the last few years. They are an ode to the Studio 54 era when stars like Donna Summers, Cher, and Diana Ross frequented the nightclub with gorgeous, bouncy curls on full display. Given that the style was most popular during the height of those party years, it feels especially fitting for Lively to give it a spin before one of the biggest fashion celebrations of the year. Take a closer look at her curls below.
