Maisie Williams took a cue from Lydia Deetz as she styled her hair for Paris Fashion Week. On Jan. 23, the "Pistol" star debuted a spiky set of micro bangs while attending the Christian Dior haute couture spring/summer 2023 show. Like TikTok users taking a cue from Wednesday Addams to experiment with edgier makeup and darker fashion trends, Williams let Tim Burton's original goth heroine inspire her look. "Very Parisienne," hairstylist Yumiko Hikage captioned behind-the-scenes footage of Williams getting ready for the day on her Instagram Stories.
For her face, Williams's makeup artist, Helene Vasnier, used Dior Beauty products to apply thick mascara, bold eyeliner, and a set of swooping lashes. As a final touch, Vasnier used black liner to mark a dot on each of Williams's eyelids, applying a second dot near the outer corner of each eye. The Parisienne mime-inspired makeup, Lydia Deetz–esque outfit, and "Nightmare Before Christmas"–style dress made for a subtly avant-garde look.
The former "Game of Thrones" star tied the entire ensemble together with a black-and-white-patchwork dress in plaid, complete with a lace-up corset.
In 2021, Williams made her Met Gala debut with an inky-black-bow hairstyle that paired beautifully with her winged eyeliner. The following year, she returned to the steps of the Costume Institute in a tight bun overlaid with bejeweled locks of hair styled in flat waves. The finished look was a Betty Boop–esque updo almost as edgy as her micro bangs.
