Gabrielle Union achieved gravity-defying hair height at the "Strange World" premiere on Nov. 17. While walking the red carpet with her costar, Jake Gyllenhaal, Union showed off an intricate braid flower composed of a half dozen overlapping, geometric braids. "Now look at this 😜 Strange World…London Edition," Union captioned a video of herself showing off the hairstyle from all angles on Instagram.
The design, created by hairstylist Issac Poleon, was structured to stand tall like a crown at the base of Union's slicked-back hair. "It's giving braid flower," Poleon captioned his own Instagram video. "Yessssssssss baby," Union replied, followed by a series of heart-eye, fire, and hand-clap emoji from fans who agreed that the look is a work of art.
Two days earlier, Union attended the "Strange World" premiere in Los Angeles with her husband, Dwyane Wade, and their 4-year-old daughter, Kaavia. The family had a chic matching moment on the red carpet in coordinated pink and black ensembles by Valentino.
Union's elaborate hairstyle isn't the only hair sculpture we've seen on the red carpet lately. At the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" premiere on Oct. 26, Lupita Nyong'o sported a voluminous "hair chandelier" adorned with seashells. The look was created by hairstylist Vernon François and featured a rope design at the base of her neck. Bella Hadid also walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 3 with six knife-like hair daggers on her head, keeping us on our toes for what to expect from this season's celebrity beauty looks.
