Anitta's Gold Chrome Manicure Is Trophy Worthy

Anitta was ready to take home a trophy when she arrived at the Wall Street Journal's 2022 Music Innovator Awards on Nov. 2, and her gold chrome manicure was perfectly suited for her award-winning night at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Though glazed-doughnut nails and various iterations of that trend have been a popular choice in the world of celebrity nails lately, Anitta opted for something bolder. She contrasted her all-black look with a silver-gold metallic manicure courtesy of nail artist Naomi Yasuda.

While the Brazilian musician's nails were the perfect pop of color against her monochromatic power suit from Burberry, they also happened to match her Innovator Award. In honor of her many accomplishments throughout her career, Anitta was awarded a silver trophy, which her nails played well off of.

You might have seen the chrome nail trend on celebrities like Dua Lipa and Zendaya in the past. Fortunately, thanks to the look's growing popularity, the technique is becoming more accessible. "When it first came out, the chrome pigment was extremely hard to find and was very expensive - about $25 for a very small bottle," celebrity manicurist and educator Julie Kandalec previously told POPSUGAR. "Now it has become more popular and is easier to find. You can find it pretty much anywhere nail products are sold, including most nail salons."
